Dubai Taps Into Booming Hair Transplant Industry With AI-Powered Robot
Published

Aided by artificial intelligence, a precision $500,000 hair transplant robot in Dubai is reducing costs and improving success rates. It has increased the accuracy of transplants and halved the times spent in a clinic to around four to five hours, while supporting a booming regional industry.
Istanbul enjoys a thriving hair transplant tourism market as it remains the go-to destination for cosmetic procedures. According to its Health Ministry, Turkey is expected to receive more than two million health tourists in 2023 and around $20 billion in associated revenue.
Robotic Transplant Causes No Trauma Or Discomfort
In Dubai, software updates and intelligent algorithms are helping surgeons perfect existing hair transplant techniques. The adoption of the latest technology is improving the success rate of such procedures as well as cutting costs and time spent in the clinic.
“The increased accuracy in targeting healthy follicles contributes to longer-lasting results and elevated success rates,” said Dr Sanjay Parashar, chairman of the Scientific Emirates Plastic Surgery Society. The robot can remove up to about 1,000 hair follicles in an hour, he noted.
The robotic transplant machine does not cause any trauma, discomfort or swelling, Dr Parashar added, stressing a decent hair transplant used to cost around $10,000 two years back, but the same can now be accomplished for around $4,000.
Rapidly Reducing Stigma Due To Open Discussion
Before the procedure, a 3D model is mapped out to show patients what their hair will look like once the surgery is complete. It gives them the option to customise their hairline, while allowing even distribution of new hair for more natural-looking results.

Dr Parashar said hair transparent procedures will cost even less in the near future as the technology becomes more widespread. The global market for hair transplants could reach $30 billion by 2031, amid rapidly reducing stigma due to open discussion and social media.
