Dubai Announces Inaugural RailX Conference and Exhibition for 2027

The Dubai Tourism International (DTI) has announced the first-of-its-kind Dubai conference and exhibition on RailX, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on May 31 to June 2, 2027.

The theme for the event is “Building the Future of Rail and Mobility,” and the event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, UAE and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.

Global Platform for Rail and Mobility

RailX Dubai was introduced by RTA Director General and Chairman of the Chairpersonship Council Mattar Al Tayer with the aim of linking-raveling rail and mobility markets across the world.

The event will involve leading multi-sector rail know-how from Europe and Japan and emerging rail infrastructure in the region and in China. It strives to provide platforms and spaces for knowledge dissemination and investment and alliance building within industry.

Comprehensive Rail Industry Focus

This will be managed by RailX Dubai from start to finish covering the entire life cycle of the rail and transport project. It’ll cover policy development, strategic planning, engineering design, innovative financing, project implementation and advanced project and customer operations.

The exhibition is anticipated to serve as a space for all stakeholders – governments, infrastructure developers, technology providers, investors or mobility professionals – to look into the future of urban mobility.

Supporting Dubai’s Urban Vision

The event serves the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, and the RTA Strategic Plan 2030 directly. The frameworks are centers on sustainable mobility and efficient public transport that are at the heart of Dubai’s long-term mobility development.

Low carbon connectivity can also be achieved through rail infrastructure, more efficient commuters and broadened urban development. RailX will therefore be about the conversation, how the transportation networks can support the emirate’s future growth.

Dubai Metro Network Set for Expansion

The launch follows Dubai’s ongoing initiatives to further develop its rail network. Dubai Metro has transported almost 3 billion people since the start of its operations on 9th September 2009 and has recorded about 40% of the total public transport ridership Dubai’s public transport industry is recording.

The rail network is expected to expand from 90 kilometres to 162 kilometres with the help of the Blue Line and plan for the Gold Line in the city of Dubai. The planned expansion is expected to boost capacity by 80% while a commitment of Dh55 billion has been made for investment.
