Biden-Oman Talks: Seeking Solutions for Gaza War Escalation

US President Joe Biden discussed the Israel-Hamas conflict over the phone with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said earlier today.

As Israel reacts to Hamas‘s horrific terrorist attack on October 7, “the two leaders discussed the latest developments in Gaza and the importance of sustained humanitarian access and the importance of protecting civilians, consistent with international humanitarian law,” according to the White House.

“They emphasised the need to work towards a durable and sustained peace in the Middle East, including the establishment of a Palestinian state, and to deter threats from any state or non-state actor seeking to expand the conflict.”

The Sultan of Oman, His Majesty Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, and President Joseph R.
