Saudi Arabia Unveils New Hajj Package Framework for Foreign Pilgrims

The ministry of Hajj and Umrah has begun preparations for the pilgrims‘ affairs offices of over 75 countries, in advance of their participation in the Hajj season of 1448 AH (2027), at the airport in Saudi Arabia. The preparations must be geared towards ensuring a more coherent operational readiness and behavioural coordination and ensure a smoother journey for the international pilgrims.

Nusuk Hajj at the Centre of Digital Booking

The Nusuk Hajj platform is still a very important digital platform for eligible pilgrims from abroad. The platform, which is operated by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, enables pilgrims from countries with a service to register on-line, and assess the packages on offer, online; to choose from authorised service providers and finalise the booking and payment process without having to go to an authorised agency on-site.

In the coming season, aspiring pilgrims can register their wishes at the official package registration page all over the world. Saudi authorities explain that just submitting the Expression of Interest is not equal to one’s acceptance for Hajj or booking confirmation. Further information will be sent out to applicants when reservations open.

Different Package Categories and Services

Nusuk Hajj offers package services depending on the accommodation, length and the level of services. There are currently no Luxury, Premium and Standard categories including Luxury and Premium accommodation shifting and non-shifting. Services can vary from flights to accommodation in Makkah and Madinah and catering to transportation to Mashair services and guidance and the visa issuance, depending on which package is chosen.

The platform additionally makes distinctions between shifting and non-shifting plans. There are two types: shifting packages, which involve changing of the package; and non-shifting packages, in which the pilgrims stay on either side of the rituals in one packet of accommodation at Makkah. The minimum package duration depends on the package booked.

Focus on Transparency and Authorised Providers

The digital system aims to simplify package comparisons and selection of service-providers. Nusuk Hajj notes that pilgrims may make their bookings via the Direct Hajj Program without relying on any intermediaries; on the other hand, it highlights authorised service providers on the official system.

It may be noted however, that there may be some difference in who is permitted and which countries offer their services throughout the seasons of the year of Hajj which is held between June and July. The current Nusuk platform is displaying country eligibility for the current season (1447 AH/2026), and plates for 1448 AH are yet to be prepared.

What Foreign Pilgrims Should Do Now?

Those intending to make a pilgrimage should follow official ministry of Hajj and Umrah announcements and Nusuk Hajj platform regarding pilgrimage registration and eligibility, pilgrimage packages available and dates of booking. They must also not turn solely to unofficial operators or unconfirmed package guarantees or prices for 2027.
