The Financial Times looked at some of the fresh foreign investments around the world, and they concluded that from the months of January to June 2024, Dubai cornered 508 foreign investment projects. That would mean nothing but the fact that Dubai has attracted 6.2% of the new fresh foreign investments received worldwide during this time. This year, in the same months, Dubai managed to bring home 5.7% of investments and hence is going even better in attracting fresh foreign money this year.

This success has to do with the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai. A vast number of factors relating to progressive economic policies and its changing infrastructure have much to do with keeping it firmly on the list as one of the top destinations for investors and multinational companies. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

Dubai continued its run of six consecutive half-year periods since 2021 to top the foreign investment list with foreign direct investments being its mainstay. Doing so placed it ahead of London, Singapore, and New York City among the top global financial hubs. It also achieved that while trying to reach the very stringent targets of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

The city continues to lead the attraction of Greenfield FDI in most sectors and fields such as tourism, real estate, artificial intelligence, corporate headquarters, logistics, and fintech. Dubai moved into the third position globally, from the sixth, in the level of Greenfield FDI capital attraction for the first half of 2024, moving to the first position in the MENA region, compared with the same period in 2023.

Dubai FDI Monitor reported that in the first half of this year, there are 801 projects amounting to AED 21.85 billion FDI projects announced in Dubai. In the same period last year, it was AED 20.30 billion with 803 projects. The total estimated FDI capital grew by 8%, making Dubai even more attractive as a destination to investors who seek higher investment values.
