Kuwait Declares Five-Day Eid Al Adha Holiday for Public Sector
A five-day public holiday has been officially declared by Kuwait’s cabinet to celebrate Eid Al Adha throughout all government institutions. The extended holiday runs from June 5 through June 9 before operations return to normal on June 10.
Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al Sabah who served as both acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister led the cabinet meeting during which the holiday decision was disclosed on April 29. According to the Kuwait News Agency all state bodies must observe this five-day public holiday yet organizations with special operational needs can modify their operational schedule.
Due to government regulations in UAE both Day of Arafah (9 Dhul Hijjah) and dates 10 to 12 Dhul Hijjah compose the official Eid Al Adha holiday period for the country.
