Turkey’s vice president and finance minister are set to discuss economic opportunities with leaders in Doha today, ahead of President Tayyip Erdogan’s planned visit to Qatar on July 17 – 19. Cevdet Yilmaz and Mehmet Simsek will meet Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and other delegations. 

This trip marks an opportunity for both countries to reinforce their strategic partnership, discuss economic ties and strengthen relations. Turkey and Qatar boast strong economies and have shown resilience in the face of global challenges. Exploring investment opportunities and trade partnerships will be key agenda items, with a focus on sectors such as energy, construction, tourism, and finance. The goal is to further bolster bilateral trade and create conducive environment for increased investments. 

The Turkish vice president’s visit serves as a prelude to President Erdogan’s anticipated visit to Qatar. It is expected to strengthen political ties and reinforce the foundations of cooperation between the two countries. Discussions between the vice president and finance minister’s visit will help lay the groundwork for productive talks and ensure a fruitful outcome for both countries.
