Patients in the UAE will soon be able to use their smartphones to rapidly check their important health indicators without having to go to a lab. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) unveiled the new AI-powered system at Arab Health 2025 in Dubai.
The way citizens track their health could be revolutionised by the new technology known as “Biosigns” which is an inventive artificial intelligence (AI) system that turns smartphones and tablets into personal health monitoring gadgets.
Biosigns, which was created as part of MoHAP’s efforts to update the healthcare system, enables smartphone cameras to monitor vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol, hemoglobin and even stress levels in a matter of seconds.
According to MoHAP, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved device scans face photos to identify minute variations in skin tone and blood flow beneath the skin offering precise real-time health assessments.
By eliminating the need for expensive medical testing and frequent lab visits, the Biosigns technology aims to increase access to health monitoring. With results quickly accessible via a web platform or smartphone app, individuals may easily monitor their health.
