Slovenian President Dr Natasa Pirc Musar is on a high-profile trip to the UAE. She and her Emirati counterpart HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed discussed different aspects of bilateral relations today, focusing on economic, trade and development cooperation.

His Highness expressed his pleasure to be meeting President Pirc Musar and his hope that the visit leads to enhanced bilateral cooperation. He noted that the UAE-Slovenia diplomatic relations commenced in 1992, one year after the Slovenia’s independence.

He highlighted the important role of the UAE-Slovenia Joint Economic Committee and the Political Consultations Committee in identifying opportunities for partnerships across scores of fields, according to official media reports.

UAE fostering developmental partnerships that benefit all

During the meeting on Monday, the leaders explored opportunities in clean energy, sustainability and other key fields. They also touched upon regional and international issues of mutual concern, stressing the need for global peace and stability.

Both the UAE and Slovenian Presidents affirmed their countries’ commitment to seeking an end to hostilities in the Middle East. His Highness Mohamed bin Zayed reiterated the UAE’s consistent approach of fostering developmental partnerships that benefit all.

In her statement, President Pirc Musar of Slovenia conveyed her keenness to advance bilateral relations to support the interests of both nations and advance the aspirations of their peoples. She expressed her pleasure at visiting the Gulf state.
