Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Entry Fee Announced: Dh5 for UAE Residents, Dh10 for Tourists
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has rolled out a new pricing structure for entry to one of Abu Dhabi’s most famous cultural and architectural icons. With the new system, residents of the UAE with their Emirates ID will pay Dh5 for admission and international tourists will pay Dh10 for admission.
All visitors who book via their tour operator will be required to pay Dh8 Entry fee. But some categories are still exempt to provide the worshipers and eligible visitors access to the mosque without paying the fee to the general visitors.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Entry Fee Structure
The new pricing structures for Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque include new residents’ prices, as well as international visitor’s prices and tour operators’ prices. The charge for UAE residents is Dh5, for tourists, Dh10 and for approved tour operator visitors, Dh8.
Prayer and religious worship for the regular worshipers are still free of charge. There’s also a discount on entry to the museum for visitors 60 years and over, children under 3 and for people of determination.
Free Cultural Tours Remain Available
Culture tours of the mosque are continuing in the same tradition, free of admission fees, although admission fees have been introduced for the general public. It takes around half an hour to an hour to half an hour to 45 minutes, depending on each individual experience, and is guided by in-house experts.
The tours provide an education to visitors on Islamic architecture, craftsmanship, history and the importance and significance of the mosque. They are offered to the individual as well as groups.
New Paid Cultural Experiences at the Mosque
In addition to the redesigned entry gates, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has taken steps to increase the cultural offerings in the area, offering several paid experiences.
The Light & Peace Museum is admission-free and is included in the special, main prayer hall tour which costs Dh30. The Diya immersive experience is also Dh25 and a combination ticket for the museum and the immersive experience is Dh40.
The additions are designed to offer something more than mere access into the mosque and to enrich visitors with deeper culture and education.
Booking Guidelines for Visitors
Admission is free, with the option to reserve, for visitors via the official Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre website. Visitors and tourists can make their appointments up to 1 month in advance, so that they are able to plan their trips and visits to Abu Dhabi in advance of their arrival.
In addition, the visitors should pay attention to the modest dress that the mosque recommends. The facility of lending visitors complimentary abayas has been replaced. Others can wear appropriately cloth items that can be bought at the nearby Souq Al Jami.
