Russian President Putin commends UAE leader’s focus on artificial intelligence

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently praised his UAE counterpart HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for his significant focus on artificial intelligence. In a speech delivered at the AI Journey international conference, he noted the UAE’s interest in modern technology.

Putin highlighted the international ranking the UAE achieved last year, adding that it has accomplished remarkable feats in this regard, as it moved up multiple positions on the list and reached incredible heights.

The UAE is seeking to strengthen its global leadership in artificial intelligence, supported by its vision for innovation and global partnerships, aiming to be among the most advanced countries in this important sector.

The UAE is ramping up investments in modern technology to secure a prosperous and sustainable future for all. The country’s strategic role in this industry has been reinforced by Microsoft’s recent $1.5 billion investment in G42.

Speaking at the global conference in the Russian capital, Putin noted that the annual event has already become one of the most high-profile and much-anticipated international conferences in the science and technology domain.

The president noted in his speech that artificial intelligence is currently able to read and analyse hard-to-read images and videos, regardless of interferences – and that the modern technology is also able to predict natural disasters quite accurately.
