Reem al-Hashimy meets Israel’s first ambassador to the UAE as his tenure ends
HE Reem al-Hashimy, UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, met HE Amir Hayek, Israel’s ambassador to the UAE on the occasion of the end of his tenure in the country. Both sides discussed different issues and developments in the region.
During the meeting, Her Excellency stressed the UAE’s unflinching position in rejecting violence and escalation that could further increase the risks of instability, noting the need to resolve disputes through diplomatic means rather than confrontation and escalation.
Israeli ambassador extends gratitude to UAE President
HE Reem al-Hashimy hoped for future success for the first Israeli ambassador to the UAE and commended his role during his tenure. For his part, HE Hayek hailed the progress seen in bilateral relations and appreciated all UAE entities for their cooperation.
In an elaborate post on X, His Excellency highlighted his “three unforgettable years marked by milestones, challenges and the bright spark of hope.” It has been nothing short of an honour to see the blossoming of a fresh era, he added.
In his statement, HE Hayek extended his deepest gratitude to HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of UAE, and HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Foreign Minister, among others.
“The journey of our nations is far from over”
“Though my time here ends, the journey of our nations is far from over,” Israel’s first ambassador to the UAE said, adding this partnership is going to continue to flourish like a tree nurtured by the hands of hope and resilience.
His Excellency also extended his heartfelt thanks to Israel’s Former PM and FM Yair Lapid, President Izhak Herzog and his devoted team, and the remarkable teams at the Israeli Embassy in the UAE, the Israeli Consulate in Dubai and the UAE Embassy in Israel.
