The Primary Health Care Corporation has commenced its Care Summer 2026 initiative, which offers an exciting chance for students on a national scale in Qatar to learn about careers in health in the field by undergoing practical training. The initiative can be undertaken by a citizen of Qatar or by an expatriate resident aged 12-18 and is undertaken in health centres, with the experience being free of cost.

The program will take place from August 2026, offering the opportunity to watch healthcare professionals, learn how patients are cared for and gain workplace skills throughout the duration of the program. It also helps Qatar’s initiatives aimed at encouraging young people to pursue careers in medicine and community healthcare.

Program Dates and Training Schedule

Care Summer will take place from the 3rd of August until the 26th of August 2026 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students will receive training 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) for a total of 36 training hours held during 12 field days.

There are two convenient shifts from which a participant may select. Check the table tabulated below for the available shifts and timings.

What Students Will Learn

Care Summer provides more than just classroom learning: it includes hands-on experience in real healthcare settings. The students will gain a greater understanding of how primary care services are carried out through a number of departments. Training includes:

• Mandatory rotations in Family Medicine, Triage, Dental Clinics, Laboratories and Pharmacy.
• Introduction to Mental Health, Nutrition, Social Work and Community Wellness services.
• Workplace safety training sessions on environmental awareness, on recycling and on healthcare workplace safety.
• Exposure to PHCC’s public health campaigns and patient support services.

Students will have the opportunity to finish 36 hours of field training, upon completion, students receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
