Mumbai’s Rising Star: Ashwani Kumar Shines with Record Breaking Debut Performance
Ashwani Kumar, Mumbai Indian player made an historic IPL debut, leading his team to win the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium by eight wicket victory. A 23 year old left arm pacer made a remarkable debut by taking 4/24. He was the first debutant Indian player in IPL history who took four wickets in the first match which made him an unforgettable one.
Kumar’s magical bowling made the dismissal of top order in KKR team which was crucial for the victory. The KKR attacking star Sunil Narine was dismissed in first over continued by Quinton de Kock wicket caught by Kumar which led to devastating loss for KKR. After that Ashwin Kumar maintained the wickets of Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane and Andre Russell just scored 5 runs only when the final wicket was taken by Ashwani Kumar putting the KKR in a disastrous situation.
KKR fell completely in 16.2 overs. The contributions from Trent Boult (1\23), Hardik Pandya ( 1/10), Vignesh Puthur (1\10) and Deepak chahar (2\19) lead the team in strong fielding. Atlast, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 116 runs.
Mumbai Indians started batting with action packed aggressiveness from Ryan Rickelton who scored 62 runs from 41 balls while Rohit Sharma scored (13 off 12) only and Will jacks scored ( 16 off 17). Then Suryakumar Yadav played a small yet powerful innings with 27 off 9 balls.
Ashwani Kumar’s performance in debut match shows him as a shining star in Mumbai Indians squad, marking a promising player to watch in IPL 2025.
