Is Taylor Swift planning a concert in Saudi Arabia?

A Taylor Swift concert is all that Swifties need. Thanks to the earnings from her ongoing Eras Tour and the value of her music catalog, the global popstar became a billionaire in October 2023 – the first musician to make the ranks solely based on her songs and performances.

A frequent recipient of Grammys, Swift’s fortune includes a music catalog amounting to about $500 million, some $125 million in real estate and more than $500 million in estimated wealth amassed from royalties and touring, according to Forbes.

The star has completed her four-day Sydney Eras Tour and is jumping to the next chapter in Singapore on March 2. The “Swift Effect” has clearly hit Singapore as over 300,000 fans from the city-state and neighbouring nations arrive to attend six sold-out events.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour’s impact on tourism and economy

Officially marking the happy ending of the tour in Sydney, Swift dropped a post on Instagram featuring a handful of pictures from her concert and a caption that read: “I want to thank all of the Aussie fans for being so positive and passionate, so funny and wild and FUN.”

Interestingly, the Gulf state of Saudi Arabia could soon be hosting a Taylor Swift concert. Alhasan Aldabbagh at Saudi Tourism Authority told India Today that “discussions were on” to get the popstar to perform in the Kingdom.

The President of APAC markets at STA said, “We’ll see … maybe there will be some good news soon.” It needs to be highlighted that the concerts of Swift have a significant impact on the tourism and economy of a country, according to Firstpost.

Vision 2030 to help build a better Saudi Arabia

But Taylor Swift or not, Saudi Arabia is quite the destination to visit. STA’s Aldabbagh gave the interview in the Indian capital of New Delhi during SATTE 2024 – a leading travel and tourism exhibition aiming to improve business and exchange ideas and knowledge.

Saudi Arabia has a grand Vision 2030 and tourism is right at the centre of it. The country expects to host 7.5 million Indian travellers by the end of the decade, from across the business, leisure and religious segments. The push also includes concerts and sports events.

By 2030, the global community is expected to see a fresh and better Saudi Arabia emerging out of the desert as Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman increases efforts for development, infrastructure and tourism, reported India Today.
