Introducing Thailand e-Visa for UAE residents – a game-changer?
UAE residents seeking to explore Thailand can do so through a seamless system starting January 1, 2025. There is no longer a need for applicants to submit passports and supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General.
Through an e-Visa platform, foreign nationals in the UAE can fill in the application form and upload necessary documents, pay the visa fee of Dh400 (approximately $109) and take a print of the e-Visa confirmation.
Since there is no express visa option, all UAE applicants are recommended to plan their trips to Thailand at least 20-30 days before departure. The entire e-Visa processing is going to take up to 5-20 days from the date of visa fee payment.

Importance of Thailand e-Visa for UAE residents
This is going to be a game-changer. The Thailand e-Visa launch doesn’t just ensure a seamless experience. It is also part of the country’s plan to lure more tourists from across the globe to its pristine beaches and scenic mountainside.
In subsequent steps after the e-Visa application has been approved, UAE residents need to present the e-Visa confirmation at the immigration checkpoint, and carry their passport, proof of accomodation and return ticket to facilitate smooth entry.
UAE applicants need to have a valid passport. In order to confirm their current location (that should be in the UAE and not in any other country, including Thailand), applicants need to submit a valid UAE Residence Visa or a valid UAE’s Residence Identity Card.
