ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024: England vs Oman - prediction, probable XI, series so far

England lock horns against Oman in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The match is scheduled to be at the Vivian Richards Stadium, in North Sound, Antigua. It will start at 12.30 am IST on 14th June 2024.

Current Standings of the teams

England who are the defending champions of the Trophy have not won in the 3 fixtures, 2 lost and one being washed out due to rain. The team led by Jos Buttler is placed at 4th position in the group having 1 point. If they are planning to make the playoffs, they have to win their remaining 2 group stage games. Talking of Oman, the team is already out of the tournament and would like to win the remaining match against the title holders.

Win Prediction of the match

The match is tilted towards England as the favourites but seeing the pitches till now, it is difficult to predict anything from now on. All the games till now have been low scoring and the team with strong bowling and fielding department has won.

Predicted Playing 11 of England

England, led by Jos Buttler, is likely to feature Jonny Bairstow, Ben Ducket and Buttler up the order where Ben and Jos are likely to open with Bairstow at number 3. At 4 and 5, Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone would likely be preferred making up the middle order stronger with Sam Curran and Will Jacks making up the lower middle order. The bowling department would be managed by Jofra Archer and Mark wood leading the pace attack while Tom Hartley and Adil Rashid handling the spin bowling.

Sam and Will Jacks are good bowling options too giving Jos Buttler the options in case regular bowling options fail.

Predicted Playing 11 of Oman

Talking about Oman, Zeeshan Maksood is likely to be replaced by Kashyap Prajapati in the opening while Jatinder Singh remains fixed. Khalid Kail would come at number 3 while Shoaib Khan would bat at number 4. The captain Akib Illyas would occupy the number 5 position with Ayan Khan coming at number 6. Pratik Athavale is likely to be the Wicket Keeper while the fast bowling would be handled by Bilal Khan, Kaleemullah, and Mehran Khan. For the spin department, captain Akib and Jay Odedara would be good options.
