Highlights from Manish Malhotra’s Dazzling Show in Dubai Fashion Week

At the grand finale of Dubai Fashion Week on February 6th, the renowned Indian designer Manish Malhotra broke away from his hallmark bridal couture to showcase a modern and contemporary collection that felt inspired by the world.

This time, he preferred structured necklines, pearl-decorated capes and sequined power jackets with striking shoulders over elaborately embroidered lehengas.

However, Adriana Lima, a Brazilian supermodel was the true star of the performance. In an homage to the UAE’s pearl diving heritage, she dominated the runway in a glittering grey column gown with pearl embellishments.

She added a special moment to the show when she shocked the audience with a heartfelt Namaste to the designer as she and Malhotra took a bow.

Additionally, Malhotra included Middle Eastern elements into the design by incorporating abayas and capes with his trademark glitz.

Furthermore, a Manish Malhotra presentation wouldn’t be complete without a healthy dose of Bollywood celebrity spotting. Bollywood heavyweights like actor Sanjay Dutt, his wife Maanayata Dutt, model and dancer Malaika Arora, producer-director tycoon Karan Johar and actress Urmila Matondkar were crammed into the front row.

Malhotra once again demonstrated his ability to change while maintaining his distinctive style by branching out beyond bridal wear.
