Emirati Women’s Day: These 5 ministers are shaping the future of the UAE
The UAE is celebrating its annual Emirati Women’s Day today, shining the spotlight on the significant role the female population of the country play in shaping the future. President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed has made a heartfelt post on the occasion.
“The UAE’s journey of development would not have been possible without the tireless dedication of determined and inspirational women,” he noted in his statement honouring the women of the UAE for their role in shaping the country’s ongoing progress.
The Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, also released a statement on X, celebrating UAE women’s “achievements, contributions and her genuine partnership in shaping the present and future of the nation.”
Emirati women’s accomplishments in different fields
The National has reported that the UAE ranks first globally in 33 indicators concerning women’s issues, including women’s enrolment in secondary and higher education, protection of their employment and personal rights, and social security.
HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, established the annual Emirati Women’s Day in 2015 to celebrate the notable role the female population plays in their every day lives. She also offered her gratitude today.
Her Highness recognised Emirati women’s exceptional accomplishments in different fields, particularly in regard to the We The UAE 2031 strategy for future development. “Your remarkable contributions urge us to redouble our efforts and elevate our aspirations.”
Female ministers shaping the future of UAE
1. HE Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy

Her Excellency serves as the Minister of State for International Cooperation. She received her appointment to the UAE cabinet as a Minister of State in 2008. In 2016, she assumed her current position. She continues to serve as the chairperson for Dubai Cares.
2. HE Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi

Her Excellency is a Minister of State at the UAE Foreign Ministry. In addition to her ministerial responsibilities, she formerly served as the President of Zayed University. She has been instrumental in the UAE’s efforts to restore heritage and cultural sites in Mosul.
3. HE Mariam Mohammed Saeed AlMheiri

Her Excellency is the Minister of Climate Change and Environment in the UAE. She leads the Gulf state’s efforts to accelerate climate action, bolster food security, enhance biodiversity and safeguard ecosystems through impactful policies and strategies.
4. HE Shamma bint Sohail Faris Al Mazrui

Her Excellency received her appointment as the Minister of Community Development in the cabinet reshuffle in 2023. She previously served as the Minster of State for Youth Affairs in 2016 at the age of 2022, making her the youngest cabinet minister globally.
5. HE Sarah Bint Yousif Al Amiri

Her Excellency is the Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology. In her role, she spearheads the Ministry’s efforts to boost the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and promote research and development in the sector.
