Elon Musk’s creative response to Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is back in the spotlight after global pop star Taylor Swift officially endorsed Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for the upcoming US presidential election in November.
The entrepreneur playfully responded to Swift’s high-profile support for Harris: “Fine Taylor, you win … I’ll give you a child and guard your cats with my life.” The remark on X quickly went viral, bringing attention to Musk’s light-hearted acknowledgement of Swift’s influence.
The prominent singer has a history of backing Democratic candidates and progressive causes. Musk is also popular on the internet for engaging in political discussions. He seemed to humorously concede to her influence, particularly among her fanbase.
Taylor Swift calls Kamala Harris a “steady-handed, gifted leader”
Taylor Swift’s official endorsement came shortly after the Donald Trump-Kamala Harris presidential debate on Tuesday. She posted on Instagram: “I think [Harris] is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more.”
“I have done my research, and I have made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered!,” the singer further mentioned.
The development comes after a controversy involving deepfake images falsely portraying Swift and her fans as Trump supporters. In her post, she highlighted the dangers of misinformation, especially fuelled by artificial intelligence, before signing off with “Childless cat lady”.
