Disneyland is Coming to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island
Disneyland is coming to Abu Dhabi, and that is incredible news for Disney fans in the Middle East! The new Disneyland will sit on Yas Island along with other great popular attractions—Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, and SeaWorld to name a few. In fact, with the new Disneyland addition, Yas Island will potentially be one of the premier entertainment destinations in the world.
Disney’s first theme park in the Middle East will also be its seventh theme park overall. The project represents a partnership between Disney’s creative teams and Abu Dhabi-based developer, Miral. Miral will construct the park and maintain the daily operations, and Disney Imagineers will design the park, attractions, and the overall magical guest experience.

Add Disney Magic with Local Culture
While the actual opening date has yet to be set in stone, the design process is anticipated to take about two years, then another five years of construction. The best part about this project is that it will include the classic Disney experience and the additional flavor of Emirati culture. Expect themed rides, hotels, restaurants, and experiences that will intermingle Disney’s favored characters and the foundations of the UAE. This initiative is part of a larger movement by Disney to maximize its imagination to new locations, to further touch its fans. Disney is not only expanding its geographical aspect at the time, but it is able to showcase how global stories can come together with local traditions.
