Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, met with Prince William of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the Prince of Wales, at Windsor Castle, a royal residence at Windsor in the county of Berkshire, on Tuesday. 

According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the meeting between Bahrain’s crown prince and the Prince of Wales took place on the eve of the Bahraini leader’s visit to the United Kingdom.

The Prime Minister of Bahrain called for expansion of British-Bahraini ties. He said that the relations between the UK and Bahrain would continue to increase in line with the aspirations of Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain.

The Crown Prince of Bahrain sent a cable of greetings from Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Charles III, the King of the United Kingdom, and to Prince William. Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and Britain. He called for expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries across various fields. 

Earlier, Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, welcomed Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to Downing Street, a street in Westminster in London that has offices of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Rishi Sunak and Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa held a bilateral meeting. They announced the signing of a Strategic Investment and Partnership between the UK and Bahrain. They agreed to enhance economic cooperation between the UK and Bahrain. 

According to Bloomberg, Bahrain has planned to invest £1 billion in the UK under the agreement. The two countries also signed a digital economy partnership aimed at improving technology and service sectors of the UK and Bahrain. Kemi Badenoch, the UK’s Business and Trade Secretary, and Bahrain’s Finance Minister Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa, signed the agreement.
