How to Get a Jaywan Debit Card: Step-by-Step Guide for FAB and CBD Customers
Al Etihad Payments, Al UAE Central Bank’s payment services division, has launched the UAE’s first sovereign domestic payment card network “Jaywan” in the country. Jaywan is designed to bolster the nation’s financial eco-system and enables merchants to process local transactions locally using UAESWITCH and minimizes costs involved in payments while the transaction data remains in UAE.
Many customers are keen to be first to get a Jaywan card, with First Abu Dhabi Bank and Commercial Bank of Dubai now offering the cards. Here are some steps you can follow.
Why Choose a Jaywan Card?
With Jaywan you will be able to make faster, safer and cheaper local payments. In addition to reducing transaction fees within the UAE, GCC and India, the cardholders can select between a variety of mono-badge cards which are accepted for use in these countries and co-badged cards for global acceptance, which is tied to Visa, Mastercard, and Discover card networks.
It is usable in day to day banking operations for retail transactions, international banking, ATM Withdrawal, Digital Wallets, Online banking etc.
How FAB Customers Can Apply?
A Jaywan Debit Card is directly available to customers of FAB to request in the FAB Mobile Banking App.
Once logged in to the app, go to Cards, or to the Accounts & Cards tab. Log in and click on “Manage Card” and then “Replace Card” or “Apply for New Debit Card.” If available, select Jaywan option or Co-badged Jaywan card.
Please verify the details in your delivery address, complete OTP verification and submit the request. Typically, the physical card will arrive 2 to 4 business days after delivery. After you receive it, activate it in the FAB app, set your PIN and conduct your first chip and pin transaction.
If a team member is on a FAB’s WPS or Payit they can also automatically be added to their Jaywan card on the next scheduled renewal.
