HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched an education programme to support displaced Lebanese children at risk of falling behind due to their inability to attend school.
To be overseen by the UAE’s Digital School, created by MBRGI, the programme is aimed at helping children in displacement centres study through digital channels that utilise smart solutions to access content, irrespective of internet availability.
The initiative can ensure the continuity of education for 40,000 people. The Digital School is offering remote learning to pupils across the globe. It is an important source of education for students navigating a tough period due to a lack of infrastructure and resources.
UAE delivers urgent aid to Lebanon to alleviate sufferings
Besides the recent Lebanon Education Continuity Project, earlier this month, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid instructed the provision of emergency food aid to be delivered through MBRGI to benefit 250,000 people in Lebanon.
Under the directives of President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the UAE has started delivering a humanitarian relief package amounting to $100 million to Lebanon. The initiative has received great community engagement, receiving contributions from several participants.
His Highness has also directed $30 million in aid for displaced Lebanese citizens in Syria. The UN has reported that over 200,000 Lebanese have fled across the border as Israeli air strikes continue. The UAE continues for deliver relief supplies to alleviate sufferings.
