Guided by the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the emirate is strengthening its advanced digital ecosystem and enhancing its attractiveness for global businesses and investors.
Dubai is committed to building the best technological infrastructure and attracting digital companies. The Dubai Economic Agenda D33 seeks to generate an annual contribution of Dh100 billion to the emirate’s economy from digital transformation projects.
‘Create Apps in Dubai’ bolstering UAE’s digital capabilities
In order to meet its ambitious objectives, Dubai has unveiled one more key initiative. During the first quarter of 2024, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy trained 200 Emiratis as part of the ‘Create Apps in Dubai‘ programme.
Launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, the initiative seeks to strengthen digital capabilities in the UAE and has set a target to train 1,000 Emiratis in cooperation with the private sector.
Spearheaded by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, ‘Create Apps in Dubai’ aims to triple the number of app developers in Dubai by 2025 and support 100 national projects.
Offering Emiratis digital knowledge & technical expertise
This time, the chamber organised a training session in coordination with Talabat to equip participants with the digital knowledge and technical expertise required to develop their ideas and applications, as per official media reports.
The chamber supported 45 digital start-ups to establish and expand their businesses in Dubai. It also signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with additional partners to provide services designed to support firms planning to set up and scale up in the emirate.
