UAE-Kuwait joint committee facilitates inking of eight MoUs, Executive Programmes

Chaired by Emirati Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the recently held fifth session of the UAE-Kuwait Joint Higher Committee resulted in the signing of eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Executive Programmes.

In his opening remarks, His Highness welcomed his Kuwaiti counterpart, emphasising that the convening of the fifth session of the Joint Committee “reflects the deep fraternal ties between the two brotherly nations,” reported Khaleej Times.

3. MoU on cooperation in telecommunications and information technology

4. MoU represented by the UAE Cybersecurity Council and the Cyber Security Centre of Kuwait

5. MoU represented by EDGE Group Holding of the UAE and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence regarding defence procurement and industries

6. Executive Programme for Educational Cooperation for the years 2024-2027

7. Executive Programme in the field of sports for the years 2024-2026

8. Executive Programme for Cultural Cooperation for the years 2024-2026

Detailed talks on bilateral relations and mutual interests

On Monday, UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, engaged in detailed discussions on the close and historic bilateral relations, exploring strategies to enhance cooperation and collaboration.

Both sides are interested in meeting their peoples’ aspirations for development and prosperity. They also highlighted the importance of supporting all initiatives that bolster Gulf cooperation, especially in light of the challenges facing the region.

The UAE and Kuwait also seek to advance the shared interests of the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and their peoples, and contributing to the enhancement of regional security and stability, as per media reports.

Monday’s discussions also included the latest developments in the region, as both sides discussed a range of regional and international issues of common interest.
