Qatar ranks as one of the Top 3 Safest Countries in the World! Again
Great news for residents and visitors alike, Qatar is ranked the third safest country in the world according to Numbeo’s Safety Index 2025 Mid-Year Report. Scoring 84.6 out of 100, Qatar ranks third and stands proudly among 148 ranked countries by safety/crime levels. This is not a new thing for the Gulf nation. Qatar was again ranked among the selected countries in the 2024 ranking, second. Qatar’s very low crime levels and record of being an extremely safe country have made it an ongoing success.
Gulf Region Ranked Highly in Safety
There are four other Gulf countries also ranked in the top 15 safest, which are:
Rank1 UAE
Rank3 Qatar
Rank 6 Oman
Rank 14 Saudi Arabia
This verifies that the Gulf region has become one of the safest areas to live or visit in the world!

Why Qatar Scores So Highly in Safety
Numbeo’s Safety Index is based on the following key elements:
- How safe it feels to walk by yourself in the day and at night
- Risk of robbery or auto theft
- Risk of serious physical attack or drug-related issues.
- Qatar scored incredibly well across all of these metrics. Residents reported feeling safe walking around outside, late at night, and children can play freely in parks.
Qatar is also ranked for Lifestyle Quality
Qatar ranked 16th in Numbeo’s 2025 Quality of Life Index, out of 89 entities in the year. It scored 189.4 out of 270, which is highly competitive compared to other entities in the region.
