Sultan Haitham Receives Grand Welcome as He Arrives in Brunei

His Majesty Oman Sultan has arrived in Brunei Darussalam for his state visit on the island, which aims to promote bilateral cooperation while Sultan Haitham was on his China visit during the Asia tour. 

The Oman Brunei Visit started with a splendid official reception marking the longstanding relations between Oman and Brunei, where Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, in particular, welcomed the Timbuktu, highlighting the great relations between the two states.

Oman Brunei Visit Begins with Royal Welcome

Sultan Haitham was greeted in the palace of His Majesty Istana Nurul Iman by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. Children from Brunei waved the national flags of Brunei and its host as they greeted the visiting monarch as he arrived at the venue.

Oman Brunei Visit Features Military Honours

There was a traditional 21-gun salute and the national anthems of Oman and Brunei performed during the official ceremony. The formal aspect of the state visit was highlighted with Sultan Haitham inspecting the guard of honour formed by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Oman Brunei Visit Includes Senior Delegations

A group of senior Omani officials was accompanying Sultan Haitham including Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi and General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani. Senior Bruneian officials, as well as ministers in charge of transport, commerce and investment, participated in the visit also.

Oman Brunei Visit Aims to Deepen Bilateral Ties

The visit emphasizes over 40 years of longstanding relationship and history between Oman and Ms. Brunei Darssalam. It is hoped that discussions will center on how to expand economic cooperation, joint investments, exchanges of education and culture, to make further steps towards cooperation between the two countries.
