Sheikh Hamdan Forgoes AED 101 Million in Housing Loans for 321 Emiratis

In a meaningful gesture of care and support for the community, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and chairman of the Executive Council, forgave 321 Emiratis a total of AED 101 million in housing loan repayments.

This action is under the vision of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as the continued support of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister, and illustrates the government’s commitment to safeguarding the social stability of its citizens and ensuring their people live in dignified living conditions.

The loan waivers were issued under the Dubai Housing Programme through the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs, of which Sheikh Hamdan is chairman, which aims to respond to the financial and social needs of citizens and to help create strong and stable families which is the foundation for sustainable national development. Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed that the well-being of Emiratis remains at the heart of all the development initiatives taken in Dubai. He noted that family stability not only supports the economy but also supports the fabric of UAE society. The waivers were made based on reviews and recommendations from the Permanent Committee for Citizen Affairs, which assessed the financial and social circumstances of the applicants. This generous initiative is part of Dubai’s continued efforts to improve citizens’ life experiences and empower them to reach and live their dreams. It sets another example of the leadership’s commitment to building a safer and prosperous future for UAE nationals.
