Qatar Finish Asian Games With 18 Medals as Al Ajami Takes Gold
At the 20th Asian Games Qatar brought its campaign to the conclusion in a fine manner by winning two show-jumping medals on the final day in Aichi-Nagoya. Arriving on the podium, Faleh Al Ajami grabbed the gold and Bassem Mohammed received a bronze medal.
On the field of sport, in equestrian, Qatar won 18 medals, six gold, six silver and six bronze, to end the continental tournament with its largest number of medals. This feat was a great finishing touch for the nation’s campaign.
Al Ajami Claims Show-Jumping Gold
In the single rider jumping event, Qatari rider Faleh Al Ajami put up an outstanding performance. On his mare Qapella, he gave a perfect performance in the most important rounds to win the gold.
The win was the memorable end to Qatar’s Asian Games efforts. Al Ajami noted that Qapella’s work goes hand-in-hand with his own and that he is proud to be second on the last day of the tournament.
Bassem Mohammed Secures Bronze
Bassem Mohammed was a source of his country Qatar’s success with equestrian sport, as the handler showed himself to be calm under extremely tough conditions on the course. His accuracy brought the national team a second podium finish in the event, and an individual bronze medal.
The double went to demonstrate Qatar’s prowess in the sport of horses at the Games. The biggest boost in micro medals for the team was the result by two riders who had won individual medals.
Qatar Ends Nagoya Games With 18 Medals
The last four equestrian medals added 18 which made Qatar 18 medals in total, 6 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze. The scatter of medals was a reflection of the work being done by a broad-based body of athletes.
Sponsored by Qatar Olympic Committee officials and sporting representatives, athletes and support team athletes were also recognised at Bayt Qatar in Nagoya. The meeting of the ROM projects the sacrifices that have been made for performances around the country during the Games.
Doha 2030 Awaits
The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 was also the end of the period, bringing up the topic of the next Asian Games. Competitor countries will have another great chance to build on the sporting success they have achieved in Asia, at the 21st Asian Games, which will be hosted in Qatar in Doha in 2030.
The official handover was the start of a new chapter in the life of Qatar’s sporting movement. That campaign launched in Nagoya has proved to be a success, adding good momentum now as preparations slowly build towards hosting athletes from around Asia in Doha.
