Miss Universe 2024: Meet Emilia Dobreva as she represents UAE on the global stage

The Miss Universe pageant has undergone significant changes. Earlier, only unmarried models in the age group of 18 to 28 used to participate in the global fashion gathering. But organisers are lifting the rusted restrictions once and for all.

The UAE is making its Miss Universe debut this year. Emilia Dobreva, model and mother of three, is representing the Gulf state on the stage. She recently grabbed the Miss Universe UAE title and is planning to shine further in the global competition hosted by Mexico.

The 27-year-old Emilia has roots in Kosovo. But she has been living in the Emirates for quite a good period of time. Emilia is married to an Emirati man. It is suggested that the model started her professional career at the mere age of 12.

Miss Universe UAE: Emilia Dobreva is no stranger to spotlight

The UAE’s participation in the Miss Universe 2024 contest comes months after Bahrain and Pakistan made their stunning debut. Emilia is standing beside contestants from recently-joined countries, such as Belarus, Somalia, North Macedonia and Iran.

Emilia is no stranger to the spotlight. She has attended a number of fashion and red carpet events across the globe, including the Cannes Film Festival. In the pageant, she is competing against contestants from more than 130 countries.

Miss Universe 2024 is happening in Mexico City from Thursday until Saturday. This is the country’s second time hosting the contest after earlier doing it in 2007. People in the GCC can stream the pageant on the official Miss Universe YouTube account.
