Impossible is possible: UAE is the sole Gulf nation on the top 10 list of Brand Finance Soft Power Index 2024

The UAE has maintained its position at tenth place at the Brand Finance Soft Power Index 2024 for the second consecutive year, standing as the only Arab and Gulf country among the top 10 soft powers across the globe, as per Zawya News.

The announcement came during the annual Global Soft Power Summit, held in London in the presence of global leaders and public figures, led by former British PM Sir John Major, First Lady of Iceland Eliza Jean Reid and First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

The Emirates has been making significant strides in the global index in recent years, solidifying its reputation as a key player in shaping global perceptions. The index surveyed more than 170,000 individuals to assess the 193-member states of the UN.

Brand Finance Soft Power Index 2024: Main Indicators

1. UAE ranks 1st in ‘Strong and Stable Economy’

This confirms the UAE’s status as a model of sustainable economic growth and diversification, especially following its successful implementation of a series of effective strategies and prudent decisions made by its leadership in the past few years.

The Gulf state has successfully reduced its dependency on oil as a primary revenue source. It has been putting in considerable efforts to drive growth in other vital sectors such as tourism, technology, financial services and renewable energy.

The UAE’s economic diversification strategies shield it from oil price fluctuations. 2023 marked a great year for the country as its non-oil foreign trade hit a record Dh3.5 trillion, despite the global downturn in international trade.
