The United Arab Emirates continues to welcome visitors to its first ever Olympic House during the Paris Olympic 2024 Games, providing an immersive experience of rich Emirati Culture right at the heart of the Games that are being held until 11th August.
The UAE Olympic House is designed around the concept of Shabi Houses, another name of traditional Emirati houses. It has eight different rooms comprising the Al Shikha that shows the beginning with a narrow pathway, a gateway to other places. Next up is the Al Majlis – the place of welcoming, where guests are welcomed, people connect, and innovative ideas are exchanged, followed by Al Liwan that is the place of connection, a shaded area that links different parts of a home, Al Meydan that is an open place used to play different sports and is the centre of action, Al Hiwi is a place allotted for children that has a small playing area along with a playground and last but not the least Al Erth, the place of socialising and Al Dukkan, the place of memory.
The house provides three augmented reality games inspired by traditional Emirati Games that guests can enjoy during the visit. For relaxation purposes, the CafeErth offers a place to sit, relax and savour traditional UAE inspired food and drinks creating a fusion of modern amenities along with a traditional charming experience. Meaning ‘legacy’, Erth, is a Michelin star restaurant based in Abu Dhabi, providing an exclusive experience where past, present and future converge all together in one place.
Al Dukkan provides a one stop solution to purchase UAE inspired gifts celebrating the rich stories of the country. One can find a variety of art and craft items such as palm weaving with a modern contemporary twist.
The house is located at Rue Cambon near Place de la Concorde, with events taking place at the Urban Park. It is open from 10.00 to 20.00 everyday during the period of the Paris Olympic 2024 games ending on 11th Aug. Entry is free of cost.
