hollywood celebs get candid about their addictions

Addiction and substance abuse is common in the A-listers circle, as celebrities struggle with their stardom and followers. And celebs find it difficult to stay sober.

Over the years, pop stars like Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga and actors like Brad Pitt and Bradley Cooper have shared their experiences honestly. The Hangover actor abused cocaine and alcohol during the early aughts. He revealed his wake-up call came in the form of Will Arnett. Cooper said he had no idea he was on a self-destructive path until Arnett confronted him about acting like a real asshole at a dinner party with friends. “That was the time I ever realized I had a problem with drugs and alcohol. He took that risk of having a hard conversation with me that put me on a path of deciding to change my life.”

Then the A Star is Born director went to help heartthrob Brad Pitt. The Mr & Mrs Smith actor told his fans that he got sober because of Bradley Cooper. “And every day’s been happier ever since.” Brad Pitt was addicted to both alcohol and cannabis. “I’m really happy it’s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I’ve got my feelings in my fingertips again.” The 59-year-old believes it’s part of the human challenge. “You either deny them all of your life or you answer them and evolve.”
