Gaza In Our Hearts: Dubai Cares announces notable Ramadan fundraising campaign: key details here

Civil society organisation Dubai Cares has launched a Ramadan fundraising campaign “Gaza In Our Hearts” that mobilises the UAE community to raise critical funds for the provision of the emergency relief for the people of Gaza Strip.
The campaign recognises the increasingly depleting supply of relief materials needed by the Palestinian people, apart from the heightened sentiment of compassion among the Emirati community and a shared desire to extend more help.
The brutal Gaza crisis erupted on October 7 as Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israeli cities, killing about 1,200 people and taking hundreds of others hostages. The Israeli retaliatory strikes have, on the other hand, claimed over 30,000 lives to date.
“Gaza In Our Hearts” an opportunity to unite and respond
Building upon the ongoing success of the UAE’s “Tarahum for Gaza” initiative, the Ramadan campaign is set to raise funds for concrete emergency support, with all donations supporting the delivery of hot meals, food baskets and tents.
In order to ensure the prompt and efficient supply of this emergency relief, Dubai Cares and Anera (American Near East Refugee Aid) have entered into a strategic partnership, according to the official Emirates News Agency.
The “Gaza In Our Hearts” campaign is providing people in the UAE the opportunity to unite and respond to this urgent need by trying to spark a sense of responsibility and empowerment. It comes as the fighting has left many Gazans facing severe food insecurity.

“The UAE’s response to the war in Gaza was immediate,” said Dr Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer and Vice-Chairman of Dubai Cares. The entire country, including the government, charitable organisations, businesses and the broader community, have been helping.

UAE’s notable humanitarian support for Gaza
The UAE leadership has launched the “Gallant Knight 3” humanitarian operation to alleviate the sufferings of Palestinians in Gaza as the fighting rages on. It is on a mission to provide medical treatment to 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients.
Furthermore, earlier this month, the Gulf state announced the allocation of $5 million to support the humanitarian efforts of the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA). The move came as major donors to the agency earlier suspended funding over serious allegations.
The UAE has also opened a field hospital in the enclave, treating thousands of Gazans in need. On February 21, it opened the Prosthetic Limb Centre in the facility to support the injured through a comprehensive set of the latest medical devices in the field of orthopaedics.
The country is also operating of floating hospital for the Palestinian people. In addition, Egypt on Tuesday airdropped food and medical supplies into Gaza, using the support of the Emirates, Jordan and France. The brutal violence needs a sustainable ceasefire at the earliest.
