Foreign remittance and currency exchange increase during Ramadan and Eid 2025 in Qatar
Foreign remittance and currency exchange play significant roles in each country’s economy. Exchange houses facilitate these processes and help keep the economy going. These processes increase in number during Ramadan and Eid.
During the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al Fitr in 2025, exchange houses in Qatar noted a significant surge in remittances. The exchange and transfer from and to the Gulf state also noted a substantial increase as demand for foreign currency surged.
Each year, especially during these months, exchange offices see a major demand from citizens and residents as they buy foreign currencies for the purpose of foreign trips or transfer money to their families for their Eid expenses.
Some of the main destinations for remittances include, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. In recent years, technology has been playing a bigger role in exchange markets as people prefer transactions through online applications because of speed and security.
