As part of Emirates‘ newly-launched charter services, passengers can now make short trips from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport to various Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) destinations, within and outside the airline’s network, with quick turnarounds to points in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE.
Brazil’s Embraer-manufactured Phenom 100 aircraft will be used for the regional service. It seats up to four passengers and was added by Emirates to its fleet in 2017.
Substantial Growth In Use Of Private Chartered Flights
GCC travellers with busy schedules can now have better privacy, a high level of flexibility and more convenience. Each passenger will be allowed to check in a medium-sized bag weighing up to 15 kg, in addition to a carry-on handbag. A well-stocked hamper of refreshments will also be offered and special requests can be made to booking representatives for greater convenience.
Private chartered flights have always been popular with business travellers. Their use has substantially grown over the years as travellers like the ease and quicker way of travel they offer. According to the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association, the Middle East’s private aviation sector grew over a quarter year-on-year in 2022 in terms of aircraft movements.
Emirates’ charter services will allow travellers from Dubai to use chauffeur-driven vehicles to reach the airport. A dedicated representative will assist them throughout their time at the airport, taking care of all preflight formalities and minimising wait times. Upon reaching their destinations, the travellers can take advantage of VIP clearance at customs and immigration.
The airline has been putting in great efforts to effectively manage a resurgence in air travel since the pandemic. It’s been putting emerging technologies to great use, launching Sara – a check-in robot assistant – in March and phasing out paper boarding passes in May for scores of passengers departing from the Dubai airport to promote sustainability.
