During their 35th meeting today in Muscat, Oman, the presidents of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) Olympic committees gave their approval for the games to be held.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) President and Minister of Sport, was present at the conference.

The GCC countries’ mechanism for exchanging experts and specialists in the sports field was also approved at the meeting.

The GCC General Secretariat’s initiative for on-the-job training among Olympic committees, sports federations, and other pertinent bodies involved in sports affairs was also endorsed at the meeting.

These choices are intended to support the expansion and strengthening of the Gulf region’s framework for cooperative sports.
