Before the festive season wreaks havoc on Dubai’s beaches, new rules are being set in place by authorities to ensure safety and manage crowds during Eid Al Adha. From today, access to several popular public beaches in Dubai is limited to “families only,” with some restrictions, following a formal announcement by Dubai Municipality.

The decision is part of several measures being taken by the government ahead of the week-long holiday, as thousands of residents and worshippers get ready to go out. The temporary structure is meant to provide safety and organization for families during one of the most hectic seasons of the year, officials say.
