The Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the UAE today hosted the highly anticipated India vs Bangladesh ODI match during the Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian team defeated their opponents, scoring 231/4 (46.3) against Bangladesh’s 228 (49.4).
Shubham Gill scored a fighting century off 125 balls to guide India’s chase of 229 runs in their tournament opener. Virat Kohli (38 off 22 balls), Rohit Sharma (41 off 36 balls), Shreyas Iyer (15) and Axar Patel (8) played the batting side before Gill and KL Rahul entered.
“One of my most satisfying hundreds, and my first in an ICC tournament,” star batter Gill said after his innings. Sharma became the fourth Indian batter to go past 11,000 ODI runs during today’s match against Bangladesh in Dubai.
Bangladesh’s Hridoy scored his maiden century, despite suffering from cramps that needed him to get treatment at least a couple of times during the match. He and Jaker Ali did a fabulous job at a 154-run partnership to rescue the team from dire positions.
