The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a Bilateral T20 International series against UAE on 17 and 19 May 2025. The nations have gone head to head before in 2022 for a T20I bilateral which left the Bangladesh Cricket team victorious. This marks their second outing in three years, building sportsmanship and opportunities. 

“We are pleased to see the Bangladesh national team’s return to the UAE. The BCB values the opportunity to engage in competitive cricket and we appreciate the initiative of the Emirates Cricket Board in arranging this T20I series.”, said Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, The Chief Executive Officer, Bangladesh Cricket Board. 

“These matches will serve as an important part of our team’s preparations ahead of a packed international calendar, including the upcoming Asia Cup. We are confident that these two games will further strengthen the cricketing ties between the BCB and ECB and provide quality entertainment to the cricket fans,” his statement on Friday stated.

The Men’s T20I Asia Cup is planned in September 2025, which will have India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, UAE, Sri Lanka, Oman and Hong Kong in the pool of matches for the title currently held by India, their 8th championship thus far. 

Subhan Ahmad, Chief Operating Officer of the Emirates Cricket Board commented, “We are excited to host the Bangladesh Men’s team for another bilateral T20I series with the UAE Men’s team. The Emirates Cricket Board is always keen on providing opportunities to the UAE’s national side against quality opponents.” 

The Bilateral T20 International series will be held at the Sharjah Cricket Ground on 17 and 19 May. A solid preparation for both the teams ahead of the Asia Cup and an even better opportunity for the UAE team to develop their team and shuffle to hopefully bag their first Asia Cup in September.
