Al-Nassr, a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Riyadh, is in talks with the representative of Sadio Mane, a Senegalese professional footballer who plays for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the Senegal national team, to sign the footballer as Cristiano Ronaldo’s strike partner.
According to news outlet Ariadhiah, Al-Nassr started negotiations to sign former Liverpool star Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich, a German professional sports club based in Munich.
Earlier this year, Al-Nassr signed Cristiano Ronaldo, a famous Portuguese professional footballer. The contract was signed between Ronaldo and the Saudi club for 214 million dollars. The footballer was unveiled as an Al-Nassr player at the Mrsool Park stadium in Riyadh.
It was also reported recently that Saudi Arabia has expressed potential interest in acquiring a highly-rated defender from Real Madrid for an estimated fee of €25 million.
The Saudi club reportedly said, “History in the making. Welcome, Cristiano, to your new home, Al Nassr FC.” Saudi Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal also welcomed the footballer.
Football clubs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been signing famous footballers from all over the world in an effort to boost its global image. The Saudi football clubs aim to boost their ranks ahead of the 2023-24 season.
The Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr also hired Luís Manuel Ribeiro de Castro as its new manager. Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr also signed Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
According to reports and sources, Al Nassr FC contacted Bayern to discuss the transfer of Mane to the Saudi club. However, the talks were stopped due to hierarchical changes at the club. Earlier this month, Al-Nassr reopened talks to sign the forward. Reportedly, Bayern gave permission to Al Nassr FC to speak to Mane.

On 13 July, Al-Nassr’s CEO Ahmed Al-Ghamdi held talks with Sadio Mane’s representative Bjorn Bezemer in Mallorca.
Meanwhile, Al Nassr is banned from registering new players until the club settles a debt with Leicester City. Mane will remain at Bayern Munich unless Al-Nassr’s ban is lifted.
