Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi to Abu Dhabi today and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to assisting the brotherly Afghan people in achieving their goals of stability, development and prosperity as well as advancing Afghanistan’s progress and growth.
During the meeting, the two sides addressed bilateral ties and how to improve them in order to fulfill common interests such as boosting prosperity and welfare for their peoples. They also discussed regional and international topics of common importance.
They also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in a variety of sectors particularly economic and developmental fields while also supporting reconstruction and development efforts in Afghanistan in order to serve its developmental plans and objectives, all within the framework of the two friendly countries’ strong and historical relations. Ahmed Bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State also attended the meeting.
