Fahad Al Hammadi wins gold for UAE at IMMAF Youth World Championships

Fahad Al Hammadi won a fourth gold medal for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) Youth World Championships at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, on Friday.

After winning the gold medal, Fahad Al Hammadi expressed gratitude to the UAE. He reportedly said, “I extend my gratitude to everyone who supported us, especially the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation.”

Fahad Al Hammadi defeated Damiano Grillo of Italy to take first place in the 70.3 KG division. His gold medal brings UAE’s overall medal tally to 12, with four golds, four silvers and four bronze medals.

The ongoing IMMAF Youth World Championships is taking place at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City in the UAE’s capital. The Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City is reportedly hosting the fourth edition of the IMMAF Youth World Championships under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also known as MBZ, who is the third president of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Abu Dhabi.

Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al-Dhaheri, board member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation and chairman of the federation’s Mixed Martial Arts Committee, previously said, “We have spared no effort in creating a distinctive and welcoming atmosphere for all participating athletes and delegations.”

Mohammed Al Hosani, a member of the MMA Committee of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and MMA Federation, hailed Fahad Al Hammadi for winning the gold medal. He also lauded the national team. He went on to congratulate Fahad for securing the gold medal.
He reportedly said, “The whole country is proud of him (Fahad). His remarkable achievement brings pride to us.”

Reportedly, Abdulla Al-Darmaki, a UAE national team member participating in the 44-kg division, also lauded the national team.
