UAE Leaders Pay Condolences to Sheikh Mohammed After Sheikh Ahmed’s Death

The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE extend condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at Majlis Zabeel in Dubai for the passing of his brother, Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The summit saw the posting together of top members of the UAE leadership and Al Maktoum family. Condolences were sent to demonstrate the weight of Sheikh Ahmed’s demise, and his long history with Dubai’s public and community institutions.

UAE Leaders Gather at Majlis Zabeel

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, welcomed the visitors at Majlis Zabeel. Supreme Council Members and Rulers of several emirates also attended to extend condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and the members of Al Maktoum family.

Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Ruler of Umm Al Quwain and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah were among the dignitaries.

Other dignitaries, such as Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also extended condolences. The visiting leaders were received by His Royal Highness the “Warak” of the Dubai Crown Prince Supreme Council of Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and other members of the family.

Remembering Sheikh Ahmed’s Public Service

Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was linked to a number of public and sporting organisations in Dubai. His list of done-all consisted of having been president for many years at Al Wasl Sports Club and deputy chief at Dubai Police.

The condolence calls included Military Leaders, Officials and their representatives calling his name who expressed their condolences on his role in institutional and community development in Dubai.

Dubai Observes Official Mourning

Dubai has declared a 10-day state of mourning after the death of Sheikh Ahmed. The flags will fly half way at the government departments and public institutions in the emirate during the mourning period.

Officials, community and also representatives from abroad have come together during this period of mourning to express sympathy to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and the rest of the Al Maktoum family.
