UAE Allocates $10 Million in Emergency Aid to Nepal After Deadly Floods and Landslides

The UAE has pledged $10 million in emergency humanitarian aid for Nepal after the devastating floods and landslides that took place have resulted in humanitarian losses in the country. The aid was provided through the UAE Aid Agency which falls under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The assistance under the emergency aid shows the UAE’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid in times of natural catastrophe. The funding will go towards emergency relief assistance and impacted communities, as some people are still missing and communities are being severely impacted.

Relief Efforts Focus on Those Most in Need

The UAE Aid Agency noted that the teams are in the process of liaising with local authorities and international institutions in order to facilitate the delivery of aid to the communities that are most in need.

Coordinated response is especially crucial after major flooding or landslides when infrastructure is compromised and transport disrupted, or terrain difficult to get around, which makes it harder to get emergency supplies and services to people.
