Dubai Metro Eid Al Adha 2026 Timings

The weeks leading up to and after the Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram shutdown in conjunction with Eid Al Adha 2026 have been officially announced. The move comes as the emirate is all set to receive a large number of shoppers, tourists and people moving towards the malls, entertainment facilities, the beaches and family gatherings during the lengthy holiday season.

Roads are likely to experience the highest levels of congestion around key, popular areas of Dubai including Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Deira and Dubai International Airport (DXB), and Dubai is strongly urging people to avoid using their own cars to commute, instead opting for public transport. The revised timetable, now that the holiday season is here, provides residents with almost 20 hours of round-the-clock train connections every day.

Dubai Metro Eid Al Adha 2026 Timings

The Dubai Metro will be running an extra late night service until 30th May 2026, until this time the Red and Green lines will be extended overnight. The revamped timetable is aimed to help ease traffic restrictions during Eid, late shopping and travel to the airport as well as general drive around the city.

Both Metro lines will run Monday – Saturday from 05:00 hrs to 01:00 hrs the following day. On SUNDAYS services will start at 8:00 AM and will finish at 1:00 AM the following day.

The wider operating hours give commuters greater secure access to transport around even peak hours particularly in the vicinity of key destinations like Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman, Dubai Marina and Expo City.

Dubai Tram Holiday Schedule

Dubai’s Tram also will be running on extended Eid hours to accommodate increased traffic to the Dubai Marina, JBR and surrounding water communities.

The Tram runs from Monday to Saturday from 6.00 am to 1.00 am next morning. Opening hours on Sunday will be 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM.

The new extended Tram is supposed to help ease congestion around the destinations of the beaches, restaurants, hotels and entertainment during the holiday rush.

Why Is RTA Urging Residents to Use the Metro?

Dubai authorities are anticipating an unusually high traffic volume this Eid Al Adha with the combination of school closures, family holiday, tourist travel and flights taking off from the Dubai airports. The Metro is being set up as the quickest, most dependable form of transportation in the city during busy periods.

RTA has made it a particular recommendation for the travelers flying from Dubai International Airport to take a taxi or a private vehicle from Dubai Metro Center to either of the terminals, rather than taking an Emirates Metro Development Authority (EMAI) taxi from Dubai Metro City Centre for the first and third terminals

As well, the Metro reduces the need for residents to park around malls and venues for Eid, helping to ease ramp up congestion. The Metro also alleviates the crowd around malls and Eid celebration locations that causes parking crises.

Free Parking During Eid Al Adha

Dubai has also announced that there will be 5 days of free public parking on standard paid parking over the next week along with the extended train schedules.

While the exemption applies from Monday May 25 to Friday May 29 2026. Sunday, May 31, is a regular day for parking to be collected at the parks and phases.

It does not extend to multi-storey parking facilities or airport parks, however, where there is free parking. Regular commercial parking charges will apply to these areas during the holidays.

Important Bus Route Changes
