UAE Kicks Off Largest Humanitarian Aid Operation in Gaza as Ceasefire Begins

With the Hamas-Israel ceasefire going into force on Sunday, the United Arab Emirates began its biggest aid effort in Gaza under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.

UAE Aid Details:

More than 200 tonnes of vital humanitarian supplies including food, winter clothes and other necessities were transported by a convoy of 20 trucks to Palestinian families affected by Israel’s war on Gaza. About 29,784 tonnes of humanitarian aid have already been transported to Gaza in 156 convoys as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.

By providing for their basic requirements, this aid has greatly improved the difficult situation that Gaza’s citizens, especially the most vulnerable groups are facing.

These initiatives are in line with the UAE’s humanitarian and fraternal obligations, demonstrating the close linkages between peoples and emphasising the necessity of consistent assistance to improve the lives of those impacted in Gaza in the long run.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3:

Over the course of its more than 441 day duration, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has managed more than 2,500 trucks, five supply ships and more than 500 planeloads of aid from Egypt into Gaza.

The creation of a field hospital in Gaza, a floating hospital in Arish, the Arab Republic of Egypt, with specialised medical units for emergency care and surgeries and a program to transfer critical cases for additional treatment in UAE hospitals are all part of the Chivalrous Knight 3 humanitarian operation through which the UAE provided numerous humanitarian aids.

It also includes water projects like the construction of two million gallon per day desalination plants in Rafah, Egypt and the “Birds of Goodness” program which entails airdropping aid to places that are unreachable by land particularly in northern Gaza. The operation has also included the implementation of numerous other projects.
