Saudi Arabia‘s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman arrived in the UAE on Sunday as part of a private visit. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed received Prince Mohammed at Al Ain International airport.
The leaders held meticulous discussions on the solid UAE-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations. Prince Mohammed congratulated the Emirati leader on Eid al-Etihad, the UAE’s 53rd National Day, hoping for more progress and prosperity for the country and its people.
Ensuring regional security and stability: In focus
President Sheikh Mohamed and Prince Mohammed discussed bilateral cooperation and opportunities for developing their strategic partnership, in addition to the importance of promoting joint Gulf action that contributes to regional security and stability.
The leaders discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and internationally, stressing the importance of maintaining peace across the globe. They also called for a comprehensive and lasting peace in Israel and the Gaza Strip.
Both sides emphasised the importance of strengthening Gulf cooperation, reiterating their mutual commitment to enhancing joint Gulf efforts and reinforcing regional security and stability. They also noted the need to foster Arab cooperation.
Middle East crisis and economy: GCC Summit highlights
Earlier on Sunday, Prince Mohammed attended the 45th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit. Leaders and representatives of the six countries in the bloc attended the conference, discussing matters of crucial concern.
The Summit participants underscored the need for lasting peace in Lebanon, praising the latest ceasefire agreement. They also discussed an independent Palestinian state, economic diversification, climate change and other regional affairs.
