UAE president in US: Meets Emirati students and Nasa graduates in key reception

UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is currently in the US, meeting his US counterpart Joe Biden and several other key officials and industry leaders to discuss pressing matters of mutual concern, such as the situation in the Middle East and artificial intelligence.

His Highness also met Emirati students studying at universities in the US and astronauts Nora al-Matrooshi and Mohammad al-Mulla – recent graduates from Nasa’s astronaut training programme. The meeting took place as part of Sheikh Mohamed’s official trip.

UAE President asks students to hold on to their values

The leader expressed his happiness at meeting the young Emirati students. He enquired about their progress, learned about their fields of specialisation, and underscored his commitment to providing all necessary support to ensure their academic success.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed encouraged the dozens of Emirati students to stay determined and devote their best efforts, focusing on fields that support the nation’s development vision and ensure they return home carrying the necessary skills.

His Highness further emphasised that, through their efforts in the US, the students have a unique opportunity to represent the UAE’s progress and achievements. He explained that the students should consider themselves ambassadors for their country.

The UAE President noted that the global community is advancing at an unprecedented pase, especially in the field of modern technology. He urged the students to hold on to their identity and values – encouraging them to become a bridge that connects both cultures.

The Emirati students expressed their happiness at meeting His Highness in the US and their gratitude for the support provided by the UAE. The Emirati astronauts also reaffirmed their strong determination to continue advancing the Gulf state’s name in space exploration.
